Well I've had 5, I know of at least another 6, some anglers will undoubtedly keep catches to themselves until the end of the season. We had 47 last year, 2023 was a dire year with only 14. I doubt we will exceed last year but likely already above 2023. Its all relative from the past, less angling pressure coinciding with less fish = much lower returns. Apart from the weekend I've seen very few anglers out specifically for salmon

There have been a lot more than that caught on the Lune, I've seen at least twice that many from a handful of Ribble rods who fish the Lune. Thing is many of the were clean summer fish whereas on Ribble, bar 4 exceptions, have all been coloured fish that have holed up somewhere whilst many said the lower Ribble was empty. I'm not saying there have been good runs, just better and a lot think. I often wonder how many fish run up the river early on then drop back Sept/Oct and are caught middle river when spawning hormones kick in. Whilst some do colour up in estuary a majority have been in the river somewhere .

I’ve not been fishing since August and I’ll not be out again until next year. But- in the very low water I did see lots (ok about 5) very large (as far as I’m concerned) fish a good way below The Sheds. I’m not sure if they were huge ST or salmon. But when they saw me and moved off it was apparent that they were accompanied by lots more normal sized brownies. Also saw a couple of cracking fish from one of the bridges in Kendal. I’m guessing that people have been out and catching. See you next year.
