Hi all Lunatics has anybody had the temerity to bag a springer, has there been much of a rod effort how have conditions been up in the Lune valley ??? Given a bit of rain :ROFLMAO: and the saying you won't catch if your line isn't wet is a trip up from darkest Cheshire worth the cost and effort ?? Thanks Lez
P.S. can you get day tickets on Luneside this year??

Halton deeps are holding all the fish, it seems we will have a two week season given the lack of water...lack of fish lack of water equals lack of fishing effort, it's going to be an amazing two weeks come September Sedbergh Tebay way !!

The purpose four years of work on the M6 bridges along the Lune around Tebay will be aright pain for the fishing around there and travelling up and down the M6 in that area.
My Dad a resident of Orton fished the top end man and boy, he always said the big runs and the BIG FISH ended when the road came as they say in Tebay and surrounding villages so more engineering works need to be monitored by the E.A.

It's been reported fish have been seen dying, or dead, in the river below Hornby. The reason put forward is water temperature, and oxygen depletion.
Bad news.😢
My local river in Nantwich Cheshire the Weaver over the last couple of days has had a MASSIVE fish kill, thousands of Chub, Bream Roach, Rudd, Perch ,Pike the river is smelling like a cow shed yes no rain extreme heat is not good and some fish will succomb , but it's obviously slurry a few of us local anglers were there with waders landing nets scooping drowning fish and putting them in the wier pool with hopefully more oxygen, I have to praise the E.A. they have been doing a aeration operation for two days lots of equipment and 10 or so opperatives. So praise where praise is due....

Sounds to me unless there's a miracle it's been a terrible year for angling, I just hope the water does come and the fish can get to where they need to be to build their Reds and continue the lineage of a once great Salmon river....a beautiful river would not be the same without it's tourists...

It's extortionate p
No worries, I'm slating a roof in ATM and am getting soaked. Just hope this rain will be enough to give a decent lift. Same story every year now no water in summer to speak of. I dropped out of a good club on the Tyne a few years ago because £800 for half a dozen visits in the backend fishing for coloured fish didn't seem like good value. Woe is me😢😢😉
Extortionate, I used to fish Luneside between the weirs but only day ticket, the money they were asking for a yearly ticket you would have to roof St Paul's to pay for it and that was one day on one day of, but it's collapsed much like the runs of fish on our beautiful Lune and it's a free for all now I see neherdowells throwing flying CS and nobody there to call them to account never mind ask them for there rod licence !! Sign of the times... but I am still maintaining the fish in question was a tourist 😉😉
