Had these two delivered yesterday . Quality of finish simply outstanding and puts the leading brands sold in UK shops to shame .
We have been getting ripped off for years in the UK by Hardy , Loop , Guideline etc . Even Sage and Loomis cant compare to the quality of these Meisers. The only brand that comes close for workmanship is Burkheimer.
I think by the time my customs charges were applied I still wasn't much above ÂŁ600 each rod for hand built personalised sheer quality . The exchange rate is quite good just now against the dollar .
Takes about 6 weeks to get made and delivered though but well worth the wait. I sent him a picture of my Royal Stewart Tartan kilt for the colour schemes of the 14ft'r and told him to do as he liked with the 15ft'r.
A standard build from Meiser is even cheaper and usually arrives in 10 days even these are very well finished.
The rods came from America in 5 days but took 8 to come from Coventry to Ayrshire.
You would think I had been trying to get a Rhino's scrotum contents through customs.

Here is a link to a Japanese photographers website with loads of pictures of lovely finished rods - shows just what can be done when building a fly rod. Maybe some of you guys who build your own can draw some inspiration and ideas from the pictures.
Custom Spey Rod : slow fishing
I have ordered a 13ft 6" for lighter lines and at the price we can get them for just now I dont think it is a bad idea .
