Yes , yesterday and today. A foot of visibility yesterday but began to improve marginally throughout the day . Today it continued to improve but weak tea in places . This was Winkton upper and lower . One sharp pull and a rogue pike is all I have to report.

Well there do seem to be fish in the river, encouraging that Somerley had some contacts (4?) last weekend, Avon T lost a fish on Monday and I lost a good fish today, had it on for over 7/8 minutes and it showed quite a few times, my companion agreed that it was close to 20lb, hook just fell out on a thrash. This warmer weather coming won't help, but it's good to know there are fish running.

I won two days on the Royalty on the WTT Auction, where would be your all time favourite place/beat to fish? Lots of experience of the Avon having been a member of Longford for over thirty years, but none on the Royalty so don't know the beats.

Very much depends on the Beats that you have available to you. Please post and I will point out some areas to focus your efforts.

Nothing to report from the Royalty yesterday, but Bisterne have had an 18lb fish this morning!

Correction - 16lb
Sorry not the best picture but I was more concerned in getting him back, had two small sea trout as well on a 2" Posh Tosh with a heavy sink tip and 25lb leader. Fish had been in the system for a couple of weeks I would say maybe a little longer.

Cracking fish Andy, congrats! Some achievement considering how this season started off 👏🤝

I don't think all beats will be available to you there's 6 rods there every day with the own beat rotation.

Not what I have been told or what I bid for on the WTT Auction see below:

Auction lot description: A rare opportunity for non-members to fish the Salisbury & District's waters during the Mayfly. Two days for 2 rods to fish any of its extensive waters, which include beats on the Avon, Wylye, Nadder, Bourne and Ebble. These are some of the very best Wessex chalk stream beats and there is no guest access to these beats (other than Amesbury) during the Mayfly. Dates may include weekends. Mayfly season typically runs from the third week in May until at least the end of June. 2025 season.

ma Johnson

I think you may perhaos be mistaken about the location of lot you have bought, there is no relationship that I am aware of between the Royalty Salmon fishery on the lower Avon, and Salisbury and District Association which does indeed have beats on many of the chalk streams as listed in the lot details above.
