Gave it a go at Bigsweir today, good height, colour not bad at all but full of silk weed floating down, impossible to fish as fly covered on the stuff before it’s halfway fished every cast. Could be good next few days if the weed gets washed through

Giving Wyesham a go tomorrow as the last time I was there was June 8th ! ,but Joe warned about the Silkweed earlier.Maybe it will drop out by tomorrow morning.Big raft race tomorrow which be a pain in the arse for an hour or two though.

No weed today. A tinge of colour, probably the best fishing conditions I’ve had all season.
Hooked a decent but coloured fish just before the deluge started at 9.30am, stripping a skinny Sunray in the bottom of the beat. Came off after much thrashing around on the surface. Nothing else seen.

I see on the WUF website that they have updated their ‘Salmon Catches’ page and are no longer showing the table with the total catch for the year and, as a comparison, the catches for the past four or five years. Is this an oversight or a glitch in their programs?

Or just maybe is it a case that that the catch this year is so low, they are embarrassed for this to have happened on their watch, and that perhaps it is having a negative effect on their ability to sell salmon tickets?

I note also that when searching in the anglers catch returns and reports, selecting Salmon as the fishing type returns no records. Although depressing reading both of these resources I found very useful so I’ve emailed Allyson at the Passport office to ask if they have been removed or is this some system error?
