All the daft lads snatch from fram waterside. I think there has been a byelaw for sometime not to fish from there on safety grounds, not hooking pedestrians. Never seen it enforced..... Signs went up about 2 months ago.

Had a couple of hours on club water this afternoon. Nothing touched or seen.

Couple of hours this evening on club water then on the free stretch. Nothing seen. Caught the first salmon of the season, unfortunatley a 4" smolt on the nymph dropper. A fish is a fish!

River has been up and down like a yoyo last few days. Tried to get to my fav spot yesterday but river was too high to wade!

Had a couple of hours last night on Kepier. Nothing seen. Lad on the far bank said a fish was caught the day before.

The Sands side is a private syndicate. Sewage works side is free stretch to the stream that joins the river east side of the sewage works, downstream is felling fly fishers.

Used a baitcaster and rapala copy this evening in a spot where I couldnt cast a fly because of the trees and water depth.

Last quarter of the retrieve something hit, didnt feel like a salmon, just sat and made powerful sweeps. Caught sight and it was coloured, cant have a coloured fish this time of year?
Got it beached eventually after fannying around with the star drag on the baitcaster. Have you seen this before?

Did the free stretch after, the wall to the willow pool on the fly. Lost a nice browney off the dropper but nothing migratory about.

Saturday afternoon on club water, blank, saw nothing.
Sunday evening in Durham, 2 par on the dropper and 1 good fish seen. Picking up....
