I see the first salmon from the Ure was caught last weekend, well done to the successful angler!

The picture was on Instagram, but I seem to have lost the post.
Also two were lost!

Fishpal seems to imply that you can no longer book the Abbey beat. Is that correct?

If it's not on FishPal then it isn't. Perhaps you could contact FishPal to confirm. In parallel contact the Jervaulx Abbey estate office to see whether you can book with them.

Abbey beat response from Fishpal...
"Brian Towers was in touch to say that the beat will not be let via FishPal this year. I believe a small syndicate has taken it on. Awaiting to see who has taken it, and see if they may want to sell some rods via FishPal."

Not on Jervaulx Abbey.
There are certainly salmon in the river, but as they have been static for more than a fortnight they will be exceedingly difficult to catch. If you wish to fish, look for the deeper, cooler well oxygenated pools like the Roman Ford on Swinton, the Blue Lion water, and Frodle and Dick dubs on Thoresby. All of those are better bets at the moment than Jervaulx.

Have a look at the Ure 2024 thread. Today the river is high and probably rather muddy.
