What type of shower should I install? Electric or one heated by the gas combi boiler?
Gas boiler has just been replaced. No problem with water pressure. Waiting for 4kw Solar to be installed. En-suite Bathroom has decent electric shower already. There is currently a bath in both bathrooms, so am thinking about replacing the bath in the main one with a walk-in shower.
Let me know your thoughts. Thanks

We haven't really touched the bathroom in our house yet - needs ripping out and starting again. There's an electric shower over the bath, but we changed the bath taps to accommodate a shower that runs from the combi boiler. The water pressure is better direct from the boiler, cutting out the middleman - and like you, our pressure is fearsome and fine. When we get a proper cubicle put in, I'll keep the shower running off the boiler.

Choose a reputable brand(Mira, ideal standard, Vado etc) and avoid at all costs cheap crap from the likes of Victoria plumb etc.

I've got both one that works off the electric and one working off the combo the science behind that decision is if the boiler goes south at least we can still have a warm shower until the repair man turns up.
I like your thinking!

We have an electric shower and another that is fed by the hot water tank. When the solar panels and/or the heating have put hot water in the tank, we use that shower. If/when the tank is cold, we use the electric shower. 90% of the time it's the hot water tank, but great to have options.

Plumbing fixture Shower door Shower bar Shower head Shower

Finally got the shower installed. Brother in-law was doing it as a homer, so it took a bit longer than I would have liked, but I was able to buy everything on his trade accounts so saved a bit. Went with the Mira Excel EV. Amazing.

The wife got what she wanted too.

Is that for rinsing your waders and boots in? Glad to hear your wife was thoughful!
There was one in the bathroom when we moved into the house 4 years ago. Having only seen them in bathrooms abroad we thought it was just for washing socks. How wrong we were. The only thing the wife insisted on having when we remodeled was a bidet. The rest was up to me.
If only this was true in the rest of my life.
