I’m a bit of a tackle tart and have lots of lovely reels from most of the top brands and as mentioned above for quality versus price you won’t beat danielssons.
My favourites are my loop classics though. But they ain’t cheap and the retrieval on them isn’t great unless you put a few miles of backing on them to build up the spool.
Check out Danielsson site.

There's as many answers as anglers.

One decision though is whether you're going to be using a number of different lines. Even if you only fish one river the likelihood is that you'll need different lines for different water levels. I prefer to use a cassette system; far cheaper than additional spools and easier than changing heads on running lines.

My particular preference is the Hardy Ultralite ASR reels. But it's hard to find bad reels these days.

Lets see, Most of my reels were purchased second hand. A great way to get decent gear for a good price.
Old and reliable Young 1540 click and pawl, I have a few. Affordable and it just always works with great sound.
Hardy Marquis 9/10/11, because its a Hardy.
Speyco S handle. I Couldn't afford the big money ones so this is a nice option.
Battenkill disc drag. This one I bought new many years ago for SH rod. Not used since going to two handed.
Just added a Vision Tank to the mix but have not used it.

I might be developing a problem

It depends on your budget really. Ones that won't let you down and will last a lifetime would be either Loop or Danielsson.
The thing is though, how many of us manage to avoid the shiney tackle bug for a lifetime ? Theres always something new and fancy that comes along that has our wallets out.
We are like salmon when a mepp goes past

Haha yes, it's unlikely! I can't help treating myself 😅 I also appreciate the engineering that goes into reels.

Depends what you want to pay.
Salmon fishing reels don't do much apart from hold line 99.9% of the time in the UK so anything from maxcatch or piscifun in China will do the job just fine.
Personally I prefer to put my money into rods and lines as they make much more of a difference to your casting and fish catching abilities.
However I fish with a self confessed tackle tart
😉 who loves his reels and I can appreciate the machinery that goes into them..but I still think they are more suited to catching anglers than are required for uk salmon.
