What do you recon is the safest soles to go for on wading boots. Rubber, felt, felt with studs, rubber with studs etc , or is different terrain = different soled boots. I had a fall a week or so ago and hit my head on a rock so time for new boots I think. I was wearing felt only soled boots. All advice welcome.
Thanks

Switched to felt after doing a bambi on ice act in a low and slimy Tyne end of last season
Used original Simms guides (Came with Tungsten Studs), and G3 vibrams ( With Supatracks fitted) for years.
Got a good deal on G4's fished with them twice and it has been a revelation will still use G3's if a long walk is involved but normal fishing in low water the felt wins hands down.
Supatracks are the spitting image of the studs in the original Simms, ( Still going strong after 15 years just weigh a ton!) and I would not now fit anything else.
With regards to a fitting pattern have a look a a Simms G4 felt sole the recommended pattern works for me.
300 b's fitted by hand , get their hand tool it works, as they have a short helix and a drill can over drive them with a good dash of aquasure eases screwing them in and then stops them screwing out in use.
