I was going to keep making these until I thought one was good enough but they were not getting any better so ............

Tied to a Pro Sportfisher Tube with total length just 3 inches from tip to tail as follows.

Body: Vintage embossed silver foil wound fore to aft and then back to front.
Hackle: Schlappen I dyed to match the Arctic Fox under wing
Under Wing: Dyed blue Arctic Fox
Top Wing: Three small bunches of Colobus Monkey hair in varied length
Topping: Peacock herls
Eye: Jungle Cock

Displayed with a #8 Nordic double for scale.

I made them blue because I make almost all my flies black and blue ;)

Hi Iain,

I ommited the magenta that appears in nearly every fly I fish with in an effort to make something different. I've a good bunch of old embossed foil that I bagan using a couple years ago relying on it to provide weight to the flies and use a sink tip to put them down. I did make several in hope that they would somehow become better but alas they all looked the same ...............

Splendid stuff Ard - I love it, that vintage foil gives a great "scaley" feel to the body - and the wing is awesome
