What I find really interesting is that every rod in the DH range (barring the 15'9") is going to be in 4 AND 6 piece!

What I don't find interesting, is the fact that they've used single foot guides on all the rods...

Look amazing rods to be fair, always had a soft spot for guideline, love my lpxe switch 6/7, lpx 9,9 7wt look canny seatrout rods, and finally some smaller rods in at 12,3 and 12,6 for smaller spate rivers

I had a wiggle of the 11ft 8/9, found it nice in the hand but rated at 35g I struggle to see a need for it

Enjoyed the video, I liked that he used real Spey lines at least on the part I watched. I own the 13 foot LPXe eight weight and am very happy with it.

I didn't bother in the end, I have the whole range of LPXe and they do everything I want. Not spending a fortune again

I've never tried or used Skagit on my LPXe's, the new Chrome however specifically states its Skagit compatible! along with Shooting Heads and Full lines. I'd not even consider Skagit on my Mk1 LPXe and I'd be less than confident on my Mk2's, although I have used one on my16ft and 17fter, but not in the traditional way!. Might be an advantage to some folk.

The mk2s are scary enough to cast with a rage head or guideline power taper. Dont think id risk a skagit on mine either.

Out of curiosity I tried a Skagit on my MK1 LPXe way, way back when I got it and is easy now to see how these stiff tip rods can do Skagits but not enjoyably, nor safely. My MK2 has never seen a Skagit head, and won't. Makes me wonder about these new LPXe's and how much they must deviate from the originals. New technologies perhaps may be able to combine the actions which of course would be a huge selling point, but how much of a compromise is it?
