Just finishing my black pudding square sausage and egg bap..... donning my outdoor garb then off for a 7 mile walk with the squeeze. Back, start up the mk1 golf gti for a bit, then settle down to watch Aberdeen FC smash 4 past Killie, then hopefully Motherwell turn over Celtic

Cold but beautiful November’s day here

As an archetypal Welshman, I feel I should contribute.
We've a few like it. Some have rubbed patches bare.
Weather is warming up and sheep get an itch.
Ours will be sheared before the end of the month. Getting into maggot time.
No idea why some go like this and others dont. Quite common though.
Its odd as some have a perfect fleece and others have one or two chunks left.
Must have been good condition for the grass lately too as theres some chunky lambs in the fields. Not so much on the mountains but lower down they are in great condition.

Ok, feel free to ridicule.

Just doing a massive cook.
Unplugged the freezer in the garage to mow the front lawn. Forgot to plug it back in.
Just done 16 chicken breasts in the oven. Will buy a kg of mushrooms, half a dozen onions and a couple heads of garlic for a big currying session tomorrow.
Now got a couple kg of diced beef in the oven. Stroganoff and curry.
Lamb (home grown) about to go in the slow cooker and a leg in the oven tomorrow. The chops will do for snacks.

Will switch the freezer back on tomorrow to freeze the ready meals.

Lesson learned.

Trying to figure out if you have caused yourself extra work or have accidently done most of your cooking in 2 days saving tons of time in future

I suppose you do put off bulk cooking, This has just forced our hand.
I'm sure we'll appreciate just pulling a 'ready meal' out of the freezer for the next few months.
Just need to extricate myself from the dog house in the short term.

When I became “single” again about 13 or so years ago I equipped myself with the essentials
Slow cooker
Food processor
All singing and dancing grill etc etc the list goes on

I’ve not used any of them 🤦‍♂️

Our slow cooker is regularly used.
Mrs SC has a list of recipes that get thrown in when we know we'll be busy most of the day. Come home and food is ready.

Nothing makes you feel more smug and domesticated than coming home to something you chucked in a slow cooker that morning. It also feels like someone else did the cooking for you, which is a bonus. Walking in to the smell of dinner.

I vote for genius, filling your freezer with ready meals. But a double socket might be an idea.

Im a fan of the slow cooker aswel. Chuck a lump of meat in on low the night before and forget about it untill the next day.

Im forever buying kitchen gadgets on ebay and amazon as i do enjoy cooking. The latest is a kenwood chef mixer to make cakes and pizza dough etc with the kids.

It’ll taste the same as anything else cooked in a slow cooker. 🤢
‘Everything from one of those things tastes the same. 🫣

First chick I’ve seen in the garden this year so far.
Looks like mum/dad have been feeding it well on my sunflower seeds.
It’s some size.

Ive a family of birds with chicks in the gutter or under a roof tile outside of the bedoom windown at the moment. Ive been trying to see them and work out what they are by the calls but no luck so far. Considerd poking my endoscope inspection camera from work out of the window for a look but dont want to disturb them (even though the noisey buggars wake me up every morning)

Bird feeders in the garden are working now, they arent keen on the seed for some reason but fat balls and suet blocks have the garden full. They also seem to like the carrot cake my wife made. The lass nextdoor is happy about it as shes had feeders up for years trying to attract them with no luck.

Also, for any nature lovers i started watching chimp empire on netflix last night and its well worth a watch. Its about a group of 100 plus chimps in a section of forest and how the group works hunting monkeys, patroling territory and politics in the group etc. Really well done with some stunning camera work.
