I was in the local Poundland looking for hair bleach and I noticed these little elastic toweling bands that they use for hair plaits. They are perfect for stopping spools unravelling, much easier to grip than elastic bands.

I steal the wife’s hair bands for keeping my rods together at the end of the day.
My go to always lies about the boot of the car & the hair bands are great for keeping the 4 pieces together.

This is a great idea Gary. My daughter used these in her hair a while back and, when asked, she called them "Scrunchies". I used them to secure the nylon on fixed spool reels without a line clip and they did the job just fine. Like you say, easy to remove instead of fiddling about with doubled up elastic bands.
