I really like the sound of a Hardy Perfect, I can hear it a mile away, always useful when I'm looking after more than one client on the river, or if someone has got their back to me in the boat!
Are they easy to maintain or do then need stripped and cleaned all the time ?
I love the look and sound they make but worry how they hold up compared to a reel with a sealed drag etc.

I think they are great...wee bit bulky for a switch maybe but I'd use one on mine.
Aye, it was the weight that made me think twice. Quite alot heavier than the little guideline reel thats on at the moment. Its too quiet but feels really nice in terms of ballance for both single and double handed casting.
