Good morning All

I have one of these staffs and have found that increasingly in deeper or heavier water the top of the staff becomes entangled with the mesh of my shoulder slung Gye Net.

The easy solution would appear to be a larger replacement button - but I can’t find anything suitable.

Any ideas please?

I lost the button from my Sharpes Cane staff, Sharpes themselves were able to provide me with a re placement, but I have to say I find a button less than ideal and prefer a rounded thumb fork to better take my grip and provide more positive contact.
It's hard graft getting anything, but craft shops and stick makers often have Deer Antlers, I'd look to them initially. Then there's fitting whatever you end up getting. If you shoot or know any one that does, that could save you a bundle of cash as would if you know any Countrymen who work outdoors and could get you Deer Antlers. They're 10 a p, but getting one of the right proportions and that will fit correctly is a different matter.
I'll be re working mine to a more satisfactory result this close season.
Pedro.

Dispense with the button , and tidy up with amalgamating tape.
