Anyone been out since this little lift. Was thinking of giving it a go on Saturday around Shrewsbury.

Not sure what the water clarity will be like. I live very near the Trent and it looks like its clearing nicely now with just a little bit of rubbish coming down. Hope the severn is the same.

Full day on the BAA waters today. Fly only with my new 13ft fly rod bought for my fathers day present. Fished the middle Severn bits that had fly water. Did not see anything Silver, visibility was about 18 inchs. A few nice Perch was my sum total. That's going to be it on the BAA Severn for this season now, as come Monday it will be rammed with the coarse boys. Actually kicked a bloke of today as he thought the season had started already haha good try.

Anyone seen or caught any fish this year?????????????

I’ve fished the lower Wye a few times this year and this weekend saw more fish than I’ve seen for many years, fresh/silver fish too and some belters amongst them but no takers, I think down to water temperatur.

A cool spell following this spate and there would be good numbers caught I think (relatively speaking) but I seriously worry that we’re in for another very hot dry spell which will put the dwindling existing stocks at risk as the water temperatures are already high and also quite rightly cause the suspension of fishing.

I’ve got a BAA book (that I use for coarse fishing, had some good days last year especially Coomby’s farm) which BAA sections hold “known” salmon pools /catches ?

Any one been out and about. Struggling with motivation at the moment, too many blanks and not even seeing fish is a worry.

Where is Coombys farm.

Nigel, If you look at my original post I was asking if there were any sections of the Severn on the Birmingham Anglers Association waters that are known salmon beats (albeit historically as I know like the Wye they are near to extinction) - reference to Coombys farm was purely based on coarse fishing I wouldn’t want you to think there’s any chance of a salmon there ..

Some nice fly water on that stretch. Walk down below from the post office side to trimpley I think it's called cracking water. I fished it during the coarse close season but again struggled. A little weir down the bottom end which looks the dogs.
Take a barbel trotting rod as well as your salmon rod if you go now.
Gets very busy with coarse guys though above the harbour inn. Both sides of the river.

Thanks,
Might give the weir a go with some Mepps.

Another season over. How did you Severn Salmon anglers get on. A BIG Blank for me. Did lose interest so not fished it as much as usual.

Cant even see me bothering next year. Going to do a bit more long distance travelling for my Salmon fishing next year god willing.
