Anna has asked me if I could pass on the details of people intending to attend. If anyone is planning on going can they PM me, so that I can give Anna the numbers, then she has an idea for the reception.

Please note the dress code.
“Sporting Country Attire” highly appropriate for a gentleman such as Mick.

Having had a bit of time to think more, I'm reminded that my first ever springer, caught last year on the fly, was using the 14'6" Bloke rod I built around this time last year.

I regret never taking him up on his offer to nip down to Selkirk.

That is a shame Chriswjx, a visit to his 'office' upstairs from the bank in Selkirk was a ramshackle delight of rods, blanks and various gadgets absolutely everywhere, god on earth knew how it was organised! Before the office, a visit to his house up the Ettrick valley and a plink in the garden with an air rifle followed by some mucking about with rods in the field behind was a great couple of hours. Good man was Mick and very generous.

Very sad news, I lost a childhood friend to that horrid disease a couple of years ago.

I phoned Mick one time with a small query on one of his rod building products. He was hugely generous with his time an offers of assistance and had me in stitches through the call.
