This jacket is possibly the worst piece of kit in the rain in have ever owned.
Keeps the wind off ok..but when it rains you get soaked to the skin within 10 minutes.
Absolutely zero water protection.
Joke to sell this as a fishing jacket.

Would send it back as less than a year old and pocket come away as well...but worried they might send me a new one!
Stear well clear!

Ha! So they still haven't improved it even after all this time. I bought one when they first came out. 2011 I think. Hopeless in the rain. Funny thing was, in their catalogue at the time the picture of it was grey and looked to be of the same material as their waders. Finally, I thought, a 100% waterproof jacket. Not to be. The one I received was green and nothing like the wader material. A fine jacket, 😀 but not even drizzle proof. It still hangs in the back of my van as a spare. But not in wet weather! Yep, p1sh.

Keep an eye out for deals on Geoff Anderson jackets, I got a Buteo one only had since last august but happy with it , good fit, water proofing and plenty usable pockets

I bought a £50 Sierra wading jacket in 2017, an emergency purchase. I'm still wearing the bloody thing. It gets washed and reproofed with Nikwax every year and it keeps me perfectly dry.

My only criticism is that the sleeves don't have an inner sock to prevent water running back up your arm. I fixed that with a pair of tennis wrist bands.

Every new season I think I'd better get a 'proper' jacket, then I look at the insulting price of them and say fcuk it.

So I’m still experimenting with jackets other than simms who I’m fed up giving my hard earned too.
My new jacket arrived and it seems great really waterproof but who has a head that will fit in that hood ? 🤷‍♂️ :ROFLMAO:
Fortunately it has lots of adjustments so I’ve got it no bad.

Against the flow, I had a Vector, brought back when they were quite new and mine was a cracking jacket that kept me bone dry for five or more years despite appalling abuse. I loved the simple pockets. Just two so I could usually find things

Sounds like they maybe changed the fabric type at some point. I've seen this before when you buy an identical replacement and the second item isn't as good. Either that or your concussion is now affecting your fishing memories;)

Bought one of these last year: Lotic® wore it in pouring rain in Iceland and it kept me totally dry, nice it has a two way zip front, which most others don't, cuffs stay fitted around the wrist with no excess tab to catch on your fly line, sleeve pocket will take a smart phone, its also lightweight but very robust, highly recommended.

Don't know why people waste their money on fishing and shooting jackets. I buy walking jackets. Way cheaper and waterproof. Currently on a keela pro sport in a lovely olive green, it's short enough to wade in, has a good hood you can wear over your cap and it's properly waterproof.

i bought a Snowbee Prestige jacket a couple of years ago. Good fit and nicely designed but poorly finished (the hems frayed inside the pockets and the loose ends clogged the Velcro fasteners) and it was showerproof at best: leaked like a sieve in proper rain. Back to my old Nomad for cooler days and a Patagonia SST for warmer days, both of which keep the weather out.

For propper driving rain and if its cold i like to wear my ridgeline smock as long as im just paddling and not wading deep.
Its got a good few coats of diver daves repel stuff on and dosent let a drop of water in plus neoprene cuffs to stop rain when casting. Nice big waterproof pockets for flee boxes etc. No use if walking up hills etc as you will sweat like a pig.

Good point.

Or so he says anyway. There again he said he wasn't great mates with Epstein after he found himself answering awkward questions about supplying underage girls to his mates and wound up in the big house for it.
