As per other posting the first fish came off the river on official opening day, when the river was only fishable by the estate ghillies and gamekeepers.
I filmed Johnny Hardy (Borrobol) on Beat 3 on the Wednesday when there was still a lot of snow about and the river was icing up.
The ceremonial opening was on Thursday 14th.

Here's my video. I 'caught' the first fish on the Tay on the way south the following day, and you can find that video on the Tay thread.

Hi Mike, you'd be very welcome on the Kyle. We did not too badly for Sea Trout last season considering ours is only four months long. Let me know if you plan to pop up this way as it would be nice to get out for a cast or two with you.
