Anyone know a member called badger??

I purchased a set of Sumo rod racks from him advertised on the classifieds on here. They never arrived now a couple of months on and he's now ignoring me. They were purchased on behalf of a head ghillie from a top Spey beat not on the forum, a very good friend of mine, very disappointing.

Always found the Salmon fishing community trust worthy but this guys at it.

Should be banned from the classifieds!

Thats quite a first post, he joined 15 yrs ago. Appreciate you may feel your nose is out of joint but who knows - there might be a reason. Just saying. Be nice if we knew you :)

You used to be able to click on there name and see last time they were logged on, that seems to be gone now so no way of know when they were last active (unless I’m missing that now)

Communications prior to the actual transaction are often less than optimal. I'm guessing that for domestic Royal Mail your postal service offers the ability to 'Track' a package? The tracking is something that folks should require be used when purchasing anything that will be delivered by mail. When I sell an item here I provide the buyer with the tracking number soon as I print the label. They can then see that postage has been paid and they can follow the package right up to delivery.

If you did not receive any tracking info that may be a lack of communication prior to the sale. Still, it would behoove badger to address the situation rather than ignore it.

My suggestion a year or 2 ago regarding payments sent as 'cash' for friends and family to persons you don't know from Adam was unpopular. I am left to assume that is what you did least you would have pursued this with whatever method of payment you used rather than here.

Something just doesn’t add up here.
Badger has been on here for 15 years and has sold a few items without any issues as far as we know.
He then sells an item via PM and the buyer then declares that he hasn’t received it.
Buyer then makes further contact via PM about not receiving the item but has no response.
Badgers account shows he has been on the forum 25th February.
He hasn’t replied to his messages.
Would he really steal from a newbie member on the forum for a few pounds???

Could his account have been hacked??

Guess I am trying to see the good in everyone.

There have been a couple cases where an account has been somehow hijacked. Right here on this forum we had a senior member with some 14 years registered who had become inactive, somehow his screen name and details were used to scam several members out of their money. Just last week on the website Spey Pages a friend of mine who had been inactive for over a year decided to list a Sage One 13 1/2 foot rod in unused condition ............ People posted interest onto the sale thread and were promptly contacted by someone able to use the screen name of the seller

The scammer sent members an e-mail address where the sale would commence but someone alerted my friend who contacted the Administrator of the website. The scammer was rooted out and banned but none of us understand how this was possible.

My best and only advice regarding purchasing items is to use a payment method that offers some recourse to you if the item never arrives and you are then ignored by the seller.

The only way that sending funds as cash for friends and family is if you actually know the seller personally in which case you can conduct communications off websites via phone. Before I would send $550.00 USD to someone in the UK that I don't know I would want their phone number and I would call them to ensure I was not being fooled.

I bought a reel from Badger a few months ago and it had a dent on the spool which he never disclosed. Sent him a message but heard nothing since. Dont deal with him would be my advice.
Regards Diarmid.
Diarmid It's Dave here that purchased your RJC Custom Cross S1 Switch. My claims regards Badger "Alexander Jones are legit" you know me and my friends on the Tay. This guy Badger is at it. Hopefully nobody else get fleeced by him.
