I will very interested to see how you feel the 15' G2 compares in action to your 14' Cross, I have just enough tax rebate to buy another rod, cheers Paul
I will very interested to see how you feel the 15' G2 compares in action to your 14' Cross, I have just enough tax rebate to buy another rod, cheers PaulI've got a lesson with Scott next week on the Morriston and he's bringing some rods to try, oh dear this may cost me money and I don't need another rod and I still haven't bought my Century that I keep promising myself,
Help!
Having spent a fair bit of time with David Norwich seeing how he makes rods, i do understand how it works even if i never explained it as well as your good self. That's fine Diarmid, so long as your happy that's the most important aspect. What you describe doesn't make the rod faster though in terms of its action. Most likely it feels more responsive due to a fast recovery of a deep loading blank.
Action is how far a rod bends over its length, recovery is how quickly it straightens from that bend![]()
How did the lesson go? and how many new g2 do u own?I've got a lesson with Scott next week on the Morriston and he's bringing some rods to try, oh dear this may cost me money and I don't need another rod and I still haven't bought my Century that I keep promising myself,

I didn't buy any rods (yet) as I have enough, his rods are superb, I really liked the shooting head rod. As for the lesson it was great he is a very attentive and knowlegable person who brought my casting on a great deal. I would recommend him to anyone. How did the lesson go? and how many new g2 do u own?![]()
what were your thoughts on the 13fter and what lines were you fishing on it?Tried out the two 15 footers and the 13 footer last week on the Spey, the 15's are really powerful and even I could put out long easy casts, the Spey rod had the 10/11 Spey line, it went out easy, I'm sure in the right hands these sods could cast as far as you would ever need to, they are also very well finished as well.
