From a very good friend in southern Ireland. We thought we had problems.!
I'm calling on everyone here, you deserve better than what we are getting and your CHILDREN deserve better. Where do I start? We all at this stage know that there was 40000 fish MURDERED on the blackwater in co. Cork. But this is more than just a few fish being murdered, this is our environment, our food, our air, our CHILDRENS health and well being.
A big investigation carried out by the authorities concluded this week with no conclusion, could not determine what happened. Frustrating doesn't begin to describe how I feel.
Since the 40000 fish were murdered, I have researched everything I could get my hands on and what I have found has been nothing short of disgraceful. Pipes spewing poison into our water ways everywhere, not one or 2 but scores of them. They have been tested by the EPA and they all exceed their limits on ammonia, not by 2 times or 3 times but 52 times in one case and 108 times in another. These facilities will keep operating. That's just ammonia. I wont even get into the other poisons that their waste contained.
Sludge containing all sorts of chemical poison being ploughed into the land beside crops for human consumption. Loads of chemical laden sludge just disappearing with no account of same. Where did it go? We don't know, it's gone.
Intensive farming is killing the land, the earth worm, the micro organisms in the ground. Decades ago we grew all kinds of crops. Now all our government care about is dairy, milk powder being exported. All to get up the GDP. **** is being spread everywhere, on the land, beside our waterways, everywhere, there is so much **** they can't get rid of it fast enough, running out of places to spread it.
Cancer rates are up, autism rates are through the roof. Food is just rubbish. 90 percent of what's in the shops is packaged and has a long shelf life, giving you, the consumer, a short shelf life. But as long as the GDP is up everything will be fine.
I'm not sure what the answer is to this, all I know is that our precious children deserve better than this. I emplore people to talk about this, to get animated and excited about this. It's not just a fish kill, our existence depends on the environment. When the land is dead, when every last stream is poisoned, what are we going to eat, money?
Please share this with friends, neighbours, strangers, who ever will listen. We need this to stop before it's too late. The days for governments and big industry using our environment as there own personal waste disposal needs to end for all our sakes.

I completely agree: this is far more than just a fish kill. It’s a wake-up call about the state of our environment, our health, and the future we’re leaving for our children.

The fact that over 40,000 fish were wiped out and yet no clear cause has been identified is deeply frustrating. The lack of accountability, despite clear evidence of excessive pollutants and environmental mismanagement and it’s clear that these practices are not isolated incidents...

You're right: this is about our air, our water, our food, and our children’s well-being. We deserve better, and so do they.
