Had a run out yesterday and called into Fin and Game, Tweedside Tackle, Kelso Orvis and the Borders Gunroom just have a look and pick up some odd's and ends for a trip later in the year.

The customer service in two shops was appalling, ignored in Fin and Game so walked out, Tweedside Tackle were grumpy and more interested in mobile phones and pcs than customers when both shops were empty
, so won't be back at either, or recommend them.

Orvis and Borders Gunroom were both helpful and polite, what a contrast.

Know where l will go in the future, anyone else had similar treatment in these establishments?

Dealt with tweedside on ebay and they were pretty helpfull with a few questions i had but not in person at the shop.

Stopped in at Tweedside Tackle a few times and found them to be very nice. The Lady and the guy were both chatty and friendly on each occasion. Orvis shop were also good. No complaints from me.

I do like wandering around Borders Gun Room though. Aladdins Cave.

I've had dealings with tweedside tackle and couldn't fault them, I placed the order online and within a few hours Caroline was on the phone to say my order had been dispatched

To be fair though my address does contain the word castle which seems to help, i've even been offered tea and biscuits on more than one occasion when giving address details in shops where something I was after was out of stock

I've used Tweedside tackle a few times as frequently fish the teviot/tweed, & have always found the owners to be extremely helpful & friendly.
