Haha! When I think how small I used to be able to tie my heads. Mind you there is some material in it including tippet, grey squirrel, flash and black squirrel. No excuses now. Must try harder!

I've met Ian a few times and he seems to fish this fly almost exclusively with a lot of success. See his YouTube videos for a trip to many of Scotland's finest beats as well as the tying of this fly.
