The Avon temperature reached 24.8C today. I have not seen it anywhere near this figure since I follow the measurements in 2021.

 

To add insult to injury, a seal is reported at the Royalty and was seen taking "a large sea trout or salmon" last week. We know which of those is more common at the moment behind the weirs, but the trouble isn't one fish, it's the appetite of a grey seal added to salmon being sitting ducks in that low, warm water behind barriers.

 

Hope springs eternal and maybe a chance of fishing this week?
