This pic is from a year ago yesterday, taken at Annandale Services on the way home from picking Erin (the L+W Springer) up from Yorkshire for her retirement here alongside her older half sister Niamh. Seems like minutes ago since that trip. I'm such a lucky guy to have been gifted these absolutely lovely dogs. Where does a year just disappear to??

Unusual angles but I like them.

Safi will be 12 in March.

Cant imagine life without them but as every year goes by I condition myself more and more for the inevitable. I always said if I got to 13 with Safi that would be a good innings for a working cocker but a month from being 12 she is going strong albeit starting to show some signs of deafness. She had the same problem on shoot days when she was younger 😂

So 2 weeks ago Willow had a lump on her neck. Taken straight to the vets and the vet drained the lump as it was full of puss. The vet said the puss was out but there was still a hard lump further back. Willow was operated on and the lump removed. She was feeling sorry for herself and when we brought her home she didn’t want her evening meal and just looked well peed off. Sat looking at me with an inflatable ring around her neck to stop her scratching at the stitches 🥲. Then I went to have my tea of pan fried sea bass and she suddenly came around while demolishing half my tea in the process 🤣.
So we have now had the lump results from the lab and she has the all clear. The lump was none cancerous and the report said that a foreign object had pierced the skin and instead of being pushed back out like most times, this one had traveled into the body and caused an infection which made the lump hard which in turn was pushing on her thyroid. So 2 weeks worth of antibiotics, everything cleared up, stitches out, drain removed and I have one lovely little girl back to being what cheeky little Cockerpoo’s are.
Here’s to the spring coming and the better weather so I can get more training done with her.

Well Willow is back to full strength again. Today we went over to Middleton in Teesdale for a bite to eat and a walk along the Upper Tees. The river is looking good with a decent height and clean looking water. The walk was lovely with only a couple of other walkers with their dogs.
Willow enjoyed showing her jumping skills as she got up on the wall and then proceeded to run along the top before launching herself down the river bank for a quick paddle.
As you can all see she is due a session at the groomers but has to wait another couple of weeks to make sure the scar tissue is fully healed around the throat.
I must say she is my best friend who has kept me going through some very dark times since getting Long Covid.
My wife says I love the dog more than her!
Well at least she knows without having to be told 🤣

My little girl who as you can see enjoys an early morning run through the now fairly deep snow here in the North Pennines. In some places it was a bit too deep so she was bouncing through it like a little Tigger.
It has been snowing for nearly 24 hours and getting to the point where it is looking like a scene from that kids film Frozen.
Hope you are all safe where you live and the weather isn’t causing too many issues.

Best car alarm in the world.
My Charlie boy ferociously protects his van. Anyone comes near it and the teeth are out.
He’s happy to speak to you outside the van but don’t go near him in the van unless he knows you.
I’ve never discouraged it.
Those two clowns would sleep through an earthquake 🙄🙄 never mind my van getting cleaned out of tools and a full valet🥴
