Ach, sad news. The wee one, Maggie, who's been with me for over 1/4 of my life will be having her final trip to the vets this week.

The vets thought she was on her way out early this year, but she rallied and was doing well and 5k a day until 2 weeks ago. Sadly she's gone off her wee back legs rapidly, collapsing as she walks, so I have to man up and make that phonecall.

I made the decision on Friday. She had a braw day visiting all her human and dug pals on Christmas Eve. She can't even stand to eat her grub anymore, yet her tail still wags as she's scoffing it.

Been carrying her out to the garden and holding her up to have a pee or poop. Incontinence in her sleep is happening too.

I hate doing this as she's still perfectly happy in her wee self, curled up next to me snoring as I type. BUT........

It's time🙁

Gotta to be fair to her.

This is so sad to hear but at least you and Maggie have enjoyed many good years together. It is never easy when this time comes but it shows love for her and to set her free from any discomfort and to allow her to run the fields in the heavens above. I feel your pain as I am shedding a few tears while typing this. As all good dog men know this is the hardest time of being together for so long.
Take care, you are both in my thoughts and prayers.

It’s always a worry when you add a new pup to the house, when you already have a dog. So for us, It’s a great relief to see Lola the Cockapoo take the new Yorkie pup, Maisie, under her wing.

Dog Carnivore Dog breed Mammal Dog supply

Dog Dog breed Water dog Carnivore Companion dog

These two have been besties right from the start, but there is absolutely no doubt who the boss is. From the minute the Yorkie pup crossed over the doorstep, she was the No. 1 and had no fears of showing it🤣🤣🤣

Westie, I am so sorry. My heart aches for you. It doesn’t matter how long or good their life - and Maggie really does have it good with you - it’s just not long enough. Huge love to you and your girls - and to Niccancatch, on your loss.

Thanks Saf. Sadly she went on Wednesday.

Started this year with two dogs and will start the next the same. I got awfully used to having three of them around in between though.

Ugh. I just saw the post. I'm so so sorry - and to you, Kenny. What a sad couple of weeks for so many of you. My brother lost his dog this week, suddenly and unexpectedly. Just awful.

15 and a half years of nothing but love - Maggie was lucky. I hope the spangles are doing OK without her - and you.

Found myself splitting the last piece of toast in three again this morning.......

Niamh is rather subdued (her and Maggie were very close) and Erin's gone super clingy. It'll just take them time to adjust. They're snoring their heads off next to me on the sofa right now :)

This sweet and lovely girl got to 14 and passed away yesterday. Absolutely gutted.
Also lost my father on the 22nd Dec of this year who adored her, I like to think they are reunited now.
2022 can absolutely do one..
