that’s a great idea as there must be rods with sections broken all over the place
I had a go at repairing my old Hardy Swift rod last week, broke it late last season and messaged Hardy for a replacement but they can't supply a replacement.
Finally got round to fixing it last week and it looks the job, but haven't fished with it yet.
Also repaired my friends rod and he fished all weekend with it without any issues, he confident it will hold a fish, but I'll not be 100% confident in the repair until It's landed a fish.
I am really surprised to hear that for I was under the impression that Hardy kept their mandrils and so could make a new section from scratch!I had a go at repairing my old Hardy Swift rod last week, broke it late last season and messaged Hardy for a replacement but they can't supply a replacement.

Which model of Swift was it Tonymac?Yeah I was disappointed myself Iain,
This is the response I got from Hardy Customer Support:
"I’ve had a response from the rod builder and unfortunately we have no blanks remaining for you rod, so we wont not be able to re-build the section"
I'm a composites manufacturing engineer, with almost 20 years experience making and repairing carbon fibre aerospace parts so I thought I'd put it to good use and give the repair a go. Here's hoping it holds up 🤞🤞
