I've been thinking (as you do when you over-intellectualize everything) about colour in deep water in preparation for the salmon fishing in the early Spring next year. The fly will need to be fished deep. Red light is quickly filtered out, leaving the greens and blues in deep water.
So this is something I made earlier with green floss and silver tinsel for the body; yellow hen feather throat; yellow raccoon, chartreuse arctic fox tail and blue bucktail to provide some support for the softer furs.
