Well, I just strained off last July's Blackcurrant Gin. First time I've tried that variant. I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone. A lot less 'blackcurranty' than expected and actually rather nicely spicey. Naturally empirical trials are ongoing....see you all on Thursday:thumb::lol: All...

  10. Trout Fishing
My Dad passed away two years ago. Yesterday I took his old 11'3" Daiwa to a stocked lake high above the hills near Dunkeld. Zero degrees and mist to start with but a rainbow with first cast. Intermediate and a washing line set up saw five fish netted before I got out the tea and sandwiches...

Silver Grey 2/0 This is the Kelson pattern from Cholmondley Pennell (1885) - definitely my favourite version (possibly aside from the version with summer duck sides and no JC) - the silver pheasant much more appropriate to the silvery character than the usual tippet. Used antique embossed for...

With squads being announced in the next few days its time to Kick Off. So here it is again, the 6 Nations thread. As usual discuss, pull legs, get some banter going, highlight good play (and reffing) but most importantly enjoy. :) Cheers Aled

There I'm not dead - first fly since 20 May due to moving and trying to turn this depressing season round - more rust than an old nail - this is the Teviotside, for some reason the claret pigs wool and hackle look much brighter than they are - probably down to the dodgy camera (which isn't my...
