While waiting for the shanks to arrive I was looking for patterns online. I found this one on the fishmadman website. I liked the look of them so tried a couple. They should show up well in our peaty water in the summer. One on a size 4 shank and on a size 6.

This is my favourite pattern from here on in. It's basically a whitewing with a silver body and lots of bling, both pearl and silver krystal flash (hence why I call it a whitebling). A great fly especially when the water's running clear. Tied on waddingtons and a couple of Bill Coe longshank...

Anyone heading to Bristol for this new show next weekend? Looks a bit more interesting (and maybe more relevant to the majority of fishers) than the Islington one earlier this year - and it could hardly fail to improve on the sorry showing at the Hatfield Game Fair!
