  1. Traditional/Fully Dressed Patterns
    My first fly 2020 a.d. a variant of the Black Doctor. Size 1.5, I find it more comfortable to tie this kind of flies on larger hooks, but not always have got a proper size of feathers in my humble stock of materials.
  2. Patterns for other species
    We are having really good hatches of mayfly recently making the fishing very good. I caught some the other night on the biggest grey duster I had. I've added a c d c wing to this larger duster. I'll try it tonight if they are still on the mayfly. Colin.

    This one is tied on a hook #2, I think larger hook would make this fly looks better.

    Got a new fly box so filling it with whatever I can. Liked the look of the chartreuse version of this fly so gave it a go. I normally tie with a seasonal view hence the larger cold water patterns of late, apologies if it is repetitive!:redface:

    Caught and released this beauty today, a sea liced springer of about 11/12lb. My first spring fish I have ever caught, I also turned a larger fish yesterday but it didn't take.

    Second thread from me today, I'm afraid. The river Taw where I fish is not too wide and so I'm happy using my 9'6" #7 rod for my Salmon / Sea Trout fishing. I'm wondering if it is worth me buying a switch rod as this would get me spey casting and hopefully stand me in good stead if I ever fish...

    Hi all Looking for a reel to go with snowbee diamond 2 spey rod 12.6 ft Will be using barrio switch line and barrio iss spey 7,8 lines My problem is these lines are to tight on my vision koma 7/8 reel and my larger reel is loaded already. Was thinking a larger cassette reel? Any advice...

    I only use small jungle cock " eyes " and wondered if anyone sells part used capes ? I would be interested in buying one that has only the smaller feathers left . Perhaps some commercial tiers sell these .
