Airflo suggest tying a simple overhand knot to form the loop on these, which I do. But it annoys me that the loop then goes off at an angle with that method. It isn't so noticeable on a trout leader but on a salmon polyleader the angle is quite obvious. It's just a wee thing, but it kinda irks...

I always use a rapala knot for my salmon flies,I like the freedom it gives your fly to move enticingly in the current.i also feel it improves my catches. Just my humble opinion but it works for me. Who else uses. Rapala knot for their flies ? And your opinions

What is the ideal way to reloop the poly leader when the original mono loop get damaged etc, I have tried tying a loop with the coated section, but it’s a bit chunky looking as the knot seems a bit big. I tried nail knot but that stripped the coating off.

I've only recently gotten into fishing and picked up some Vision 110s. The rive that I fish only allows one treble hook. I've set them up with a two split rings and a swivel. I'm wondering though, which knot is easiest to use when tying on the nylon? I'm finding it tricky to get it tied up.

Have a full range of Airflo Polytips which recommend tying on tippets up to 22.5lb. Have recently bought some 18lb Fluro and Nylon both of which are considerably thicker (0.4mm) than the Nylon core of the Polytip. Indeed having pulled for a break when snagged, using the fluro, the Polytip broke...

This is quite a good youtube video to watch on a cold grim winters night with rubbish on the television - Ian Gordon on knots and general fishing, sat by the River Spey with some students; no idea of the beat but looks great. Its dated as published from a few days ago. Youtube :Salmon Fishing...

Many people recommend tying smaller flies on with a Rapala knot to give more movement in the water. As a confirmed tucked blood knot man I need a You Tube link to the version experienced users use because there are a number of variations out there.

Hi I use both types (still have some salars left ;-) ) - been using Salars for years - and now trying to "adabt" to Patriots. But I do find that the eye on the Patriots is not the best for "holding" a turtle knot. Salars are great for that - the eye-shape is much better... Anyone have the...
