Had a go at another "Tartan Dagger" but on a single hook this time
I don't know how you boys tie the classics...jeeso.... this is simple with just four colours in the hackle , yellow/purple/red/orange and today was a day of many swear words
It's far from ideal as I've not got a great about...
I was looking for some tubing for tying really small tube flies.
Have found that 1.8mm tubing is too small to insert hook and 3.0mm tubing is too large.
2.4mm approx tubing would be ideal.
Anyone know if or where this diameter of tubing is available?
Thanks in advance.
Hi I have two Questions ?
Q1: I have a 14 ‘ 9- weight two handed Orvis Clear Water Spey rod .
Is it too big for Mid Ribble ?
Or Would a single handed be suitable ?
Q2: What is the ideal Rio line set up for my 14 ‘ 9# rod as a Spey cast novice.
Always great replies , so thank you...
Good morning everyone.
I see that a rod has come up for sale in july on the above river.
I have been looking for a few months for such an opportunity , and wondered if anyone has any personal info regarding the general fishing on that stretch
Although it is for myself at the moment...
Here's a 'modern' spey pattern The Mrs Grant from Kelson (1890) on a #3 Blue Heron.
I hate tinselled chenille (wish I had the real thing - this is from Hareline - in an ideal world I'd have dyed the nasty white core) but really fancied doing the pattern.
