When I was tying my Cascade doubles I also tied a few with green butts but I have never fished with a green butt cascade & wondered if it makes any difference or not to catches.
It would be good to hear opinions on this as I like the look of the fly with the green butt which I used Varivas...
Tried tying one of the Dunkeld Thunder's in cascade format as per Mr McPhails excellent YouTube video.
I then decided to give it the flamethrower format.
Not sure which I prefer tbh.
Anyway, here's my meagre offering to the salmon god's..

I really couldn't picture any of these flies on Waddington shanks. For me personally, I felt the tails would be too long if I kept to my pedantic ritual of keeping the tail twice the length of the shank.

Having posted a couple of flies recently and getting very kind,positive comments, I thought I’d put another couple up for viewing.
Variations of the cascade pattern seem to be popular so hopefully they are to everyone’s liking.
