Dee clubs
Hi All,
I'm a member of LlAA - I like it, got some good Grayling (one monster, for me, was around 2lb!!) and lots of trout - however, was wanting to ask regular fishers what their thoughts are on where to fish on the Dee in the future. The stocked fish on the Dee this year were small. I did hook into a couple of biggies in some hard to fish places but in general fish are tiddlers. Salmon fishing is also hard with a fly.
I live in Warrington - so it's about an hour away to fish LlAA - once it gets above an hour i start thinking about heading into Derbyshire etc.
Would Corwen be better? Bit further upstream - or is it the same deal?
Any thoughts welcome.
Cheers,
Patrick

Some nice water around Corwen and upstream from it but getting on is the problem as lots of it is controlled and no day tickets.

Bangor on Dee
Hi,
Bangor have some nice water, mainly below the town with some tortous meanders and interesting pools - I think they are open to new members - on the salmon front it fishes well in drier years as the fish have a clear run from the tide. Supposed to be some impressive pike around in the deeps - caution needed on some of the clay banks.

Wirral Game is restricted to 150 members and has a waiting list of about 40 at the moment. I know this as I am number 30! Looks like they may take a few in this year so it'll be at least another year or two for anyone joining the list now.

Thanks Bothy Cat - I've had a look at most sites.
This wasn't or isn't about what water is better it was about trying to find a place I can Salmon and Trout fish within reasonable travel. If I could, I'd fish it all the way to Bala!!
Anyone from BODSAA on here? I can see what the fees are, but is there a waiting list - can't see that on the website? Who can I contact?
Thanks for the help in advance,
Cheers,
Patrick
