    Cheers, and yes, that was exactly my thoughts as I was tying it. Its listed as a salmon fly and I have seen a steelhead version but my first thought was sea trout!

    Great fly, Alan. A bit shortened, on a sturdy hook. That is the type of tying that I like very much.

    As I'm drawn to flash and bling not putting flash in the wing nearly killed me hope it's fits the bill,

    One of the simplest of all North American hairwings, and the fly I landed my first Atlantic salmon on (and that fly was tied by none other than the late Keith Fulsher!)....the Black Bear Green Butt:
