1. cut a 1.5 inch piece of clear plastic hard tubing melt the end to for a rim, it greatly reduces the size of the head and make a stronger fly.

3. Attach the fl. green thread at the head wind down the tube in tight touching turns leaving the hook holding part exposed, wind back to the front keeping the turns tight and level, whip finish.
4. Superglue over the fl. green thread.
5. Take a fairly level length of black bucktail, it should act as the hook guard so tie it in so the tips just extend past where the hook will be placed super glue a few turns of thread over, add a slighly longer wing of black fox again super glued thread turns. Add some green sss hd flash over.
6. Take a wide softer piece of vintage monkey hair tie it slightly beyond the last wing, add green angel hair strands.

Thanks for the sbs . Can you please give a bit of detail of how you apply the lead tape . Is it wound as a strip or cut the length of the body and folded around ?
Thanks.

It is very thin it just wraps around the tube, if you want to get super technical you can cut a thin strip half the diameter of the tube and nearly the length and stick on the under side only so it over half the tube upthe sides, can keep the fly upright in the water doing it that way, future flly produce a weight ca.led a downforce for that reason but adhesive lead taper is better

Great stuff Rotenone, thanks for taking time to share. I’ve not tried the Sss flash etc- will have a look. Cheers, Patrick

SBS are always appreciated in this corner of the world.

Never really got that reference 'corner of the world' really. Does that perhaps date back to before we were aware that the earth was not flat? Happened to think of this after using the phrase and figured no better time to ask?

Sea lice silver is a gem. It has full rainbow holographic effect which ptobably extends to the magic invisible end of the spectrum. I like just one doubled strand each side ofthe wing on many patterns. You find these bright fibres in many of the sss colour mixes but you might not get a strand when you pull out a sparse bunch.
