Thought long and hard about this one, considered a willie gunn of some shape or form, then faffed with a cascade conehead but thought......nah, let's try something a little different.

I suppose this is sorta a Snaelda pattern, tied with Autumn reds and oranges firmly in mind.

Tying destructions-

Sean Stanton signature tube 19mm - non flanged ( used it as i originally wanted to use a gold cone, but actually thought it looked better without so had to be tidy ish with the finish...?
Red extension tubing
Hot orange bucktail
5 strands on crinkle mirror flash - peacock and black
Red grizzly soft hackle
2 x heavy nylon shrimp eyes
3 x red cock hackle feeler
2 x orange cock hackle feeler
Black soft hackle to tone down the colour a bit
A pinch of red, opal and lilac angel hair over the top of the eyes
Veevus gold oval tinsel rib
Rayon floss in black ( a bit tricky to get a good even shape, but fancied a change from black wool or chenille )
Orange badger hackle at the front
Uni 8/0 black
That looks a belter of a fly buddy, I can just see thon boy there after a big flood and the water is clear gliding round my favourite pool and the rod nearly being snatched out me ? hand. Well done looks the business buddy.

Dr pat would that be a nice fender.

‘ kind of’ Jimmy - it’s definitely a fender but its made In China - probably licensed under Fender. It’s also called. ‘Starcaster’ rather than a proper ‘Stratocaster’ - - I think it was a way for fender to get a cheaper entry model to market - with some Ernie Ball. Super slinkies- it might be a cheap guitar but makes a half decent noise! ???

I like that a lot .. have you cut the rabbit strip to a taper with the wing ?

Hi Matty

I have tapered it.

I find the standard Rabbit Zonker strips are a wee bit thick so I get a nice looking length, put it in the vice upside down, stretch it out, then use a Stanley blade to cut a taper into the skin.

Cheers BTW
