I’ve changed my mind from the S1, only those of a certain generation will remember it- I think it was a Milbro? My grandad got me it from one of the catalogues, it came in about 10 interchangeable pieces with 2 or 3 handles, I could make a couple of different fly rods, a spinning rod, a sea boat rod, I think a pier rod, a float rod and a feeder rod and probably others, however light it wasn’t - but I caught so many fish on the various outfits - sea, game & coarse - those fly rods were heavy, no wonder my shoulders were knackered in later life
I’ll add a vote for the Hardy Zenith range. The only double handed rod I have is the 12’ 6” 7 weight but I have 10’ 6” 7 wt. and a 9’ 6” 8 wt. single handed rods and use all three extensively. To the point of buying an extra 9’6” 8 wt as a spare against future breakage.
