Swap FULL

Thanks for the interest that was shown.

Okay, so idea is tie a fly that has worked for you in the spring (pre June). Can be hooks, tube or shank and does not need to be a recognised spring pattern.

If we can manage 6 of us we will plow ahead and try to have them submitted and re sent out by Jan 9th so Helmsdale might see some swimming on the 12th.

1) SM Piker20
2) gwelsher
3) slaneysider
4) stew1
5) nobby
6) Jack Power

Okay folks. That's 6 of us tying 6 flies each. I'll send you each a PM with my address.
Please ensure your flies are in a crush proof box, don't want my postman with any holes.
Include a STAMPED self addressed envelope and ill swing them round so we can wet them this new year.

I'll resurrect the original idea. If we can gather 6 we can run with that if everyone is okay with it.

Okay swappers, PMs on their way out. Tie up 6 of your favourite spring killers and send them in.

If everyone can have the flies with me by Thurs 8th January they can be back on your doorsteps hopefully by 12th at the latest. Unless we are covered in snow or floods etc etc.

Obviously if they arrive sooner they get back to you all sooner.

Happy tying.

The Irish are on the ball. I'd better start tying then. As the fly will be for early season this is my go to tube.

It is tied on a plastic tube for use on a fast tip but if anybody wants it with a cone then just ask.

Tied up 6 Templedogs as close to the original pattern as I could.

The wings look heavy in the photo, but to hand they are not so heavy.

That is a cracking photo Gary.
Any tips would be appreciated.I just can't get the light right behind the wing, it seems dense with the light not getting through.

I thought the fly was good as well :mad::mad:

;);) I will send you a PM or email with lighting suggestions.

And those flies you've tied are crackers. You might not have tied for a while but it is like riding a bike to a talented tyer like you.

Merry Christmas and a Healthy New Year to all us " swappers"

Gary

The fly had already been liked Gary;);), as always.
No doubting it will see every rock and boulder at Inchmarlo in April.:D:D

I remember a photo of the set up you had posted and can not find it in a search.

Not 100% happy with the flies to be honest, I used brown Nayat for the underwing which was not consistent. Enough time to get an order of brown fox in and resolve this in time for the new season.

A very merry Christmas to yourself and all Gary.

All the very best

A lovely set of tube flies arrived yesterday from Mr Clark, that'll be Nobby.
Just two sets to drop in and we're finished.
