Just a stoat ! Liking seeing slaneysider salmon in pictures so tried tying on a single sometimes you forget that the flies don’t need to be so complicated to still catch the fish

That's a cracker Pal, and your right IMHO you don't need flies to be so complicated, horses for courses as they say , sparsely dressed flies work better on some rivers and always have.
I came across this little Critter on the road the other day I couldn't leave him and say his death was in vain,it's what you could call an original dressing. 👍

That's as nice a Stoat as I've seen!

Like Slaneysider, I've relived a few dead stoats of their tails over the years.

I like the Stinchar Stoats Tail with a really hot orange hackle, not a nearly brown one. Have caught some good fish with it.

A lovely fly ,beautifully dressed.l,ve a soft spot for this pattern as l took my first salmon on one.l have seen grilse,sea trout and even large brown trout taken on replicas of the fly pictured

Underwing is yellow fox
Interesting what an impact the underwing has made and I like the look of the ostrich butt. I would fish that fly any day with confidence. A Vambeck and Yellow is probably what it would go into the book as.
