Starving sea birds

Loads of dead birds on the Northumberland beaches also!
Wow I find that incredible as I was just gonna post about going up to Durham last month and whilst visiting a beautiful place called Seaham I was quite excited at seeing Gannets for the first time. Their were so many Gannets and Terns all diving in, not far out, that I came away thinking that region must have a very healthy stock of bait fish?
So sad to see how drastic things have become.

Read an article tonight that had the theory that due to lower salinity, the sand eels etc that guillemots feed on are much deeper in the water. The young birds still have down under they’re feathers and are too buoyant to dive deep enough to catch them and are starving to death.
