It’s a gem. I only used it with the Rio outbound Scandi 7/8 (460gr) and it’s an excellent match

Its an amazing rod lovely to use.
Once I'm finished my own rods I'm going to arrange a test cast day and will bring my rjc 12'2" as well as my custom loops built by Ross. Your welcome to come along and have a cast of them.
Andy is going to come along.

I have the 7122 and it's a cracking rod. Goes really well with 30g heads and gaelforce 54ft 7/8 spey line.

I know it’s not the most practical reel but I will definitely be using it with the rod

I’m thinking it’s a matter of when, not if. They really do look the part. The extra section is a nice bonus.

I've not sorted a place yet but I'm going to sweet talk a ghillie im friendly with on the northie and see if hes up for it. it will be as soon as i can sort it after Christmas.

Finally managed to get on the phone to Ross and order my 7122-5 roll on February

Got the chance to have a few casts today with the RJC 13ft 11" 7 weight line 6pce.
Only tried the one line but it was a great match for the rod, Gaelforce 54ft 7/8 @30g. Slow down the cast a little and the rod was sending the line across the stream effortlessly and turning over the tapered nylon leader a treat. Snake rolls were great with this outfit. With the extra length, hanging the fly and steering it across the pool was a great advantage.
I don't have any negative comments on this rod at all and would gladly fish with it more often than I perhaps thought that I might.
Anyone looking at a light line longer rod for summer fishing would do well to consider this as an option. View attachment 48431

As an update Ross has also made me up a 9’6” 5wt single handed rod. It’s due to arrive end of this month but the handle picture is below. I have been inspired by Geoff’s 7122 composite cork handle
a friend of mine has this rod and loves it and I have been after a Stillwater light nymph and dry fly rod so this should be perfect

I've got a reel in mind for the rod neil I did look at the ARX most places seem out of stock I take it it's now a discontinued model? now the cobalt is out
