Just back from the river Farrar last week of the season. 6 fish biggest pushing 10lb all on RJC rods. 2 on the 6113, 2 on the 7122 and 2 on the 101311. Different rods for different conditions and all great to use.
this ones darkening up but a good size on the 7122

My new RJC 12'7" 7wt arrived today and what a stunning build it is. Many thanks to Ross once again for such high quality workmanship.
Cheers Diarmid.

Has anyone fished with Ross's 11'9" 6/7 rod? If so, what lines did you like on it? How large a fish could it comfortably handle?
I had his demo for a while and it was great with lines around 27g. Rio scandi short 420 grain around 31ft was a perfect match.
Cheers Diarmid.

I recently tried a friends RJC 9’9wt when pike fishing. It was very nice and mine has now been finished and arrived last week. Another great rod and can’t wait to use it on the pike

You’re getting quite a selection of RJC rods Neil.

I’m waiting to hear about that 16’ rod Ross is developing. Just a hint on his Instagram page.

Very true I do have a few now and have also sold a few to make room. I’m very happy with the rods and they will serve me well for many years.

I will be getting my hands on the 16ftr for a few casts in the next few weeks. I will keep you posted.
I also spent some time with one of Ross's 11.9 rods. It will easily manage fish into double figures and the line I was using mostly was the gaelforce 6/7 switch, which was really nice. 👌

Forres angling association will be holding a casting get together on their water on the Findhorn on Sunday 30th January and 6th Feb. Weather and covid permitting. This will be open to anyone who wishes to attend. I will have a selection of RJC rods if anyone wants to try out. More details will follow on the general threads.

I’m thinking about the 11’3” #6 for the sea trout next season.
Anybody tried one?
Yes had the demo for a trip to the Spey last year and it is a very capable rod. It has a nice flex all the way down the blank and was a delight to cast all day. I tried a few lines with the favourite for distance spey casting being a Gaelforce 24g switch line with a Gaelforce 10ft tip. 20-25 yards was easy.
For overhead or close in fishing the Barrio 27g switch line with a 5ft airflo poly was great but I did pull the head in a bit so possibly the 24g might have been better.
I was really impressed but already have a Gaelforce 11'9" which does the same job so never bought one. Highly recommend the rod and Ross's workmanship is second to none.
Cheers Diarmid.

I had a loan of the 11.3" 6# this year for a month or two when I was working on the river Avon and Spey. I had it teamed up with the gaelforce 6/7 24g short switch. A great set up. I let a few of the guests try it out. It got great feedback, one of the guests went on to purchase one for themselves. If it wasn't for the fact that I have the RJC 7122 already, I would have bought one myself, I still might 😂
I have a collection of Ross's rods and I am absolutely delighted with all of them. I'm sure if you get in touch with Ross you will end up with a rod perfect for your needs.

Geoff let me know if the 30th Jan is going ahead.
I might come up.

Rangers play Ross county on the Saturday so might kill 2 birds with one stone.

Will do Steve 👍 Depends on the covid restrictions etc. A decision on whether it goes ahead will be made at the next FAA committee meeting.
