Cluden Rocks. Normally a good place for viewing fish running the River Cairn. The picture doesn't do it justice as I am standing on abank a good 20-25ft above river level.

This is the river about half a mile upstream, just about in its banks. The tree in the middle of the picture is on the right bank.

Do any forum members still fish this river ?
Me & my mate are thinking of having a crack at it before the season ends.
Appreciate any advice on this.
Paul.

Yes I stll do.

The only option for a ticket is west cluden or the very bottom end of the river if you buy a Burgh ticket.

Ther DGAA close the top half of their fishings at the end of October and end visitor tickets at the same time.

Was there any fish showing at all.

If your post is for me, I don't know im not from that area.
I fished it a couple of years ago & we are planning to go up this week if we can get on. My mate has lost the ghillies phone number in his old mobile so he can't get in touch.
Anyone know a ghillie called Whalley by any chance ?
If so could you pass them on.
Thanks Paul.

For Thrasher

Was there many fish about?
Renowned poachers paradise or used to be.
Hope it's changed.
Just wondering if it had a head of fish like it used to,aquarium.

Hi DB, posted that in 2009.

I have not been at Cluden rocks for a look this year.

There are two beats on the West Cluden side, an upper at the rtocks itself and the lower one which is the one that is detailed on Fish Nith.

The upper section is not what i would call a "fishing" spot.:rolleyes:

T&S reports said the Nairn had a good run and fish caught. One famous for the spectacular November Greybacks.
