Hi
I am thinking of getting a Rio AFS shooting head 8/9 for my 13 ft hardy sirrus. I got a rio AFS 39g for my 15 ft slate spx and it works a dream just wondering if any one has tried the 34g on a nine wt 13 ft any feedback would be welcome
Thanks Natt:rolleyes:

Like all shooting heads, the rio afs seem to vary in weight +/- 3g from their advertised weight. If you can either weigh in shop or get the vendor to weigh them if buying over the phone.
As to which line best suit your rod, that is a personal thing and if you can try both the 7/8 and 8/9 lines you will be able to make a better judgement than on someone elses recommendation.

I agree with Beardog in that there is often a bit of variation in weight with AFS. I bought an 8/9 and it weighed in at 36g instead of 34g.
