I recently got the 8/9, tried it once so far with the floating tip, on a stiff 10' #8 single hander. IMHO - very large diameter head and tip for its rating, not very supple, nice slick finish, shoots and turns over well, but a bit cumbersome - a crash lander. I'd say it felt heavier than its stated rating - but perhaps it was just me. It produced a 9lb licer, so it's not all bad You can borrow it for a week if you'd like to try it out 1st hand.
