Has anyone used the above for shot guns ?
I have had custom made plugs before, but two things:

  1. Ear wax tends to block the hearing system
  2. You will inevitably lose one no matter how careful you are

Everyone i shoot with clays or game uses electronic ear defenders and mostly 3M Peltors.

I have just bought some custom plugs. So far so good but it's early days. I had them made in very bright mixed colours to make them easier to find and I have an ear bulb in my shower to regularly dewax my ears. I sat on 2 pairs of electronic muff types in two seasons so I felt I should try a change! They are much less cumbersome to shoot with but I do fear loosing them! Battery changes are, I'm told, both frequent and fiddly. Two really good shots I know use them and swear by them but both are sponsored to use them. Everyone else I know uses Peltors. Ask me again in February!!

I bought some custom plugs last year - the idea being that I could wear a bigger hat on wet shoot days.

Even though they fit (and work) fine I don’t get on with them and have gone back to my cheap, non electronic headphones.
